A well-kept garden all year, even when you are not here

An Algarve garden never stops: the grass grows all year, hedges need cutting several times, palms drop fronds and the irrigation has to be adjusted every season. Without a routine, a good garden is lost in a few months.

We maintain gardens with regular visits and the same crew every time. We mow, trim hedges and shrubs, prune, feed, look after the automatic irrigation and leave everything clean. The waste goes with us.

Many of our clients live abroad or rent their house to holidaymakers. For them we send photos on WhatsApp after every visit and flag anything that needs attention, from a leak in the irrigation to a palm showing signs of weevil.

What is included

  • Mowing

    Regular mowing and edge trimming. Scarifying, feeding and overseeding when the lawn needs it.

  • Hedges and shrubs

    Hedge cutting, shaping shrubs and simple topiary. Box, pittosporum, bay and cypress hedges.

  • Maintenance pruning

    Light pruning of fruit trees, ornamental olives, roses and climbers at the right time of year.

  • Automatic irrigation

    Checking each zone, replacing broken drippers and sprinklers and reprogramming the timer for the season.

  • Weeding and beds

    Weeding, clearing fallen leaves and dead flowers, topping up pine bark and gravel.

  • Feeding and treatments

    Fertilising the lawn and plants, and plant-protection treatments when needed, by a certified applicator.

How the job runs

Four steps, with the price agreed before we start

  1. 01

    Visit and plan

    We look at the garden, the lawn, the plants and the irrigation. We agree how often we come and what is included.

  2. 02

    First clean-up

    If the garden has fallen behind, we start with a thorough clean-up to catch it up. The routine starts after that.

  3. 03

    Regular visits

    Weekly, fortnightly or monthly, depending on the season and the garden. The same crew, on the agreed day.

  4. 04

    Report and alerts

    Photos at the end of every visit if you want them. We let you know when something needs bigger work, from a major pruning to a sick palm.

What affects the price

The price of garden maintenance depends on:

  • Garden and lawn area
  • How often we visit (weekly, fortnightly or monthly)
  • Number of hedges, shrubs and trees to look after
  • Irrigation: manual or automatic, and the state it is in
  • Current state of the garden and whether it needs an initial clean-up
  • Fertiliser and treatments included or charged separately

After the visit we give you a fixed price per visit or per month, with what is included in writing, so there are no surprises.

Answers before you call

How much does garden maintenance cost in the Algarve?
It depends on the area, the lawn, the number of plants and how often we come. A villa garden with a lawn and a few hedges visited every fortnight is a very different price from a condominium with weekly visits. We make a free visit and give a fixed price per visit or per month.
How often does a garden need maintenance?
In spring and summer the grass grows fast and fortnightly visits are the most common. In winter one visit a month is often enough. We adjust the plan through the year rather than charging the same number of visits in January and June.
I live abroad. How do I know the work was done?
We send photos on WhatsApp after every visit and tell you about any problem: a leak in the irrigation, a sick plant, a palm with signs of weevil. Many of our clients only come to the Algarve a few weeks a year.
Do you also look after the automatic irrigation?
Yes. On every visit we check the zones, replace broken drippers and sprinklers and adjust the timer to the season. If there is no system or it is worn out, we install a new one.
Do you maintain condominiums and holiday rentals?
Yes. We work with condominiums, rental houses and the people who manage holiday homes. We time the visits around guest check-ins so the outside always looks the part.
